Md. Shamim Hossain is Assistant Professor of Accounting and Coordinator of the MBA Program at the School of Business & Economics, Manarat International University (MIU) Gulshan campus. He is an Associate Member (ACMA) of Institute of Cost & Management Accountants in Bangladesh. Shamim is a passionate and highly regarded researcher, receiving a number of awards for his research excellence, including Best Research Paper from the 10th International Conference on Financial Criminology organized by United International University, Bangladesh in association with Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam, Malaysia. At present, Shamim works as the Convener of Internal Audit Committee of MIU. Besides that, he has performed several administrative roles including but not limited to Assistant Proctor, Assistant moderator of various clubs and member of Digital Transformation Committee and IT Skills Development Committee. Shamim graduated with Honours and MBA in Accounting & Information systems from University of Dhaka. In 2018 he completed his research for his Masters in Accounting from Putra Business School (AACSB accredited) at University Putra, Malaysia and it was fully funded by the Malaysian Government Scholarship named Yayasan Khazanah Asian Scholarship. His thesis examined perceptions on money creation and impact of accounting treatment for commercial banks' money lending activities in Malaysia. Shamim has enriched his data analysis skill through training on SPSS, SMART PLS, STATA and R Programming Language. He continues to focus and publish his research in the field of corporate reporting, governance, and accounting practices. Shamim has presented his research work at numerous international conferences settings including Thailand, Bangladesh and Malaysia. Besides that, he has also done plenty of training programs on multidimensional issues in Malaysia including Academic Writing and Publishing, High Impact Leadership, Managing Multiple Tasks and Work Priorities, Peer Support, and Community Based Learning. Shamim has also engaged himself in numerous voluntary social work among which fund raising for the Rohingya refugees is worth mentioning.
